DENY SELF
| by Hidden Remnant
Your number one guidance,
and tools is the word of God.
You have been given the best tools ever existed the scriptures of the Lord.
It’s our number one spiritual guide, and compass that leads us to the truth, and directs us closer to the Eternal God.
Every questions you have,
it's written in the word.
Stop over analyzing what you're doing, what you are not doing, and everything you're doing for the Lord.
And just..
“BE STILL,
AND KNOW,
HE IS GOD."
Do it for good intentions simply because you want to pleased God, not because you want to pleased man, and expecting something in return or payment.
This spiritual journey is not a duty, or a job, but a relationship between God and man.
Like when you married your spouse, did you do it because you expected something in return, or did you marry your partner because of love?
Or did you marry for money?
Which one?
That is the same thing when it comes to the things of God. We serve because we love God, not because it’s a burden.
Definetly not for profit.
Praying, fasting, worshipping and reading bible is part of our responsibility as believers on a daily basis.
We don't pray, fast, read bible and worship because God owe it to us.
No absolutely not.
But we do it, because we owe it all to Him. ( ITS A MINDSET. )
Remember God do not owe us a thing. Absolutely nothing. But we owe it to Him, and to Him alone.
Jesus died on the cross, and He already gone ahead of us, to finished the works at the calvary tree 2000 years ago.
THUS WE DONT HAVE TO DIE ON THE CROSS TO SAVE OURSELVES
for the Lord is fully aware we cannot save ourselves. But to give us life more abundantly.
The rest is up to us to follow. At the end of the day it's a personal choice.
These are the instructions of the Holy One given to us in His written word,
if we want to maintain salvation and have a personal relationship with Him.
Keep bearing fruits by keeping with daily repentance, and work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Matthew 3:8
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Matthew 10:38
And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Luke 9:23
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
This walk is a lifestyle.
If it’s not your lifestyle,
then I don’t know what is?
PUT YOUR "SELF" ASIDE and put others first. This is part of denying SELF.
Put others needs above your own needs. Consider others above yourself. For the first will come last, and the last shall come first.
God chose the foolish of this world, to confound the wise.
And He use the weak to shame the strong.
Serve others while you wait on Him. Rich out to the poor, pray for those who are in need, help the needy, feed the hungry, and intercede, and pray for those who are lost.
Live a lifestyle of servitude.
Occupy until Jesus comes.
Use your gifts, and talent to help, and for building others.
Be faithful with your little.
And never grew weary in doing good. For in due time, God will add more, for you have remain faithful to your small.
This life we have on earth is no longer ours. The moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord, and Savior, your life is not your own to live but we are Gods property.
Be a good steward of what the Lord has graciously given you. Read the parable of the talents.
Often times we are too busy focusing on our selves,
what we want,
what we need,
what we desire,
that we are forgetting about the needs of others.
Remember our lives,
is not our own??
Ask yourself.
What would Jesus do?
When He was on earth what did He do.
Jesus came as a simple man,
with no golden crown,
or throne of His own,
He did not rule like a King, to be served with cheese, crackers, and meat platters, with wine riding chariots of horses like royalties.
But instead….
He DENIED HIMSELF,
He came as a servant,
He wash feet,
He died to Himself,
to serve not to be served.
He healed the sick.
He help the broken.
He feed the hungry.
He cast out demons.
He ministered to the lost.
And He preach the gospel.
Without a title,
without position,
without a church building.
He did not live for "SELF",
but to accomplished the will of the Heavenly Father.
You want to get closer to Him?
Then be like Him.
Be like Christlikeness.
The only way, to be closer to the Lord, by dying to self,
and crucifying the flesh.
Picking up your cross,
and carrying it daily without grumbling or whining.
Be partakers of Christ SUFFERING on the cross. Do not live for yourself, but live for Christ instead, and deny self.
For the Lord said in His words, in this world there are tribulation, but take heart for He already overcome the world.
Like Apostle Paul said,
I no longer who lives, but Christ in me. Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
You want to be His disciple?
Then be like the 12 disciple, they all denied self, gave up their possession, give up their business, left their homes, and families, and abandoned their wordly lives,
the earthly desires of their flesh, the pride of life, the cares of this world, and gave up everything they have to surrender to Jesus feet,
then they all followed to truly serve the Lord with no personal agenda or any motives at heart.
That is how they have become close to the Messiah, and sat and dine with Him, because they denied self while they serve others.
Why was David close to God?
For the reasons David was known to be a man who after Gods own heart.
What does that mean to you?
It means David did not after his own desires, or personal persuits, and wants, but he after Gods desires.
He served to pleased the Lord.
Not to pleased “SELF”.
You ask how long do you have to wait to receive what you long and desire.
Let me ask you this?
How long did Abraham waited for God to answer his prayers, to have a son?
How long did Sarah waited to give birth to Isaac?
How long did Esther waited to be a Queen?
How long did Joseph waited in jail for the promise of God to come into full fruition,
before he sat on his own throne to be the prime minister of Egypt?
How long did David waited to rule and reign as king of Isreal?
How long did Noah built the ark?
And how long did he waited to finally step foot on the ground again after the flood?
How long did Moses waited to be use by God?
How long did Moses suffered with the stiffnecked Isrealites while he leads them in the wilderness to the promise land?
They may all have different testimony.
But they all have one thing in common.
They WAITED patiently.
Imagine how long Abraham waited to bore son of his own?
He was at the age of 99 when He had his first son from God.
And why he was known the Father of Faith for He waited for so long for Gods promise to be finally fulfilled.
The key to success,
is in the waiting, and patience.
All these mighty general man and women of the faith, waited eagerly for the Lord to finally moved on their behalf until they receive their miracles, encounters and answered prayers.
While Joseph and David waited for their promise to be fulfilled, they serve God faithfully. They had no excuse why they can't. For the reasons it’s a mindset.
Thus my question for you?
How long are you willing to make sacrifices to wait on the Lord?
Sometimes the TEST,
is in the waiting.
The Lord will test your heart, if you are willing to wait on Him no matter how long it will take.
Or will you give up easily?
When the pressure is too much,
and you can no longer wait for you have no patience.
Remember patience is faith.
As faith without test,
cannot be trusted.
Luke 14:25-27
Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
Mark 8:34
And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Matthew 10:38
And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Mark 10:21
And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
John 19:17
And he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.
Luke 9:23
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
