UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH

UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH

Revelation from the Father.

by Hidden Remnant

When Jesus came on earth, He shared the good news to the people in the street with no church building. He did not build a temple to preach. Infact He never built one. For it was not the will of the Heavenly Father for Jesus to build a church building.

But instead Jesus build disciples and He sent them to spread the gospel to the nation. And when Jesus called Simon to follow Him, He named Him Cephas. It means Peter.

John 1:42

And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter).

Cephas is a masculine name of Aramaic origin, meaning "ROCK" It is derived from the Aramaic word kephas, which means "rock" or "stone." Cephas is a biblical name known for its connection to Peter from the Greek word for rock, petros.

After Jesus named him Cephas, then He prophesied to Peter and He said, upon this "ROCK" I will build my CHURCH. And the gates of hades shall not prevail. As He called Peter His rock. The Father was not only speaking of Peter. He was also speaking of the future. In other words the Lord foretell the future, that in the latter days "HE WILL BUILD HIS CHURCHES IN THOSE WHO FOLLOW HIM" thus saith the Lord.

Matthew 16:18

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD

The CHURCH OF CHRIST are not man made buildings made of stones. For our own bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We have been bought with a price we are not our own. Another term for church is temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

Matthew 24:2

But he responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”
